Book details

These autobiographical poems travel from nostalgic reflections on a sheep farm childhood in New Zealand through a range of experiences while moving around the Commonwealth. The speaker has that restless Kiwi gene which leads her to move country every decade or so, and in each new place she has to start life all over again.
New surroundings provoke a sense of curiosity and adventure. She sees the world through an edible lens – after growing up on a farm, she knows where food comes from, and food helps her to settle in new places and make friends.
