Book details

Tony Challis's debut collection, Rainbow Candles, is a mixture of the celebratory and the sombre, across the three sections and sometimes in individual poems. The first section, Heart, explores LGBT+ themes as experienced by Challis from the start of the Gay Liberation movement. The second section, Tongue, looks at life with a sideways glance and tongue firmly in cheek. The poems in the final section, Hands, examine themes ranging from Victorian fossil-hunters through world wars and childhood experiences to today's concerns with global pandemics and the environment.
